I am currently third-year undergraduate student (on a gap year) studying multidisciplinary design with a focus in UX/UI, interaction, and visual design. Outside of design, you can find me dominating competitive lobbies in video games, getting lost in a web novel from the comfort of my bed, or indulging my love for matcha.

Questions

Some answers you might want to read.

How did you get your start in design?

All of this started on an 8GB RAM office laptop when I was 11. Not exactly the ideal setup with the right specs, but it was my dad’s work laptop. At this age, I was learning what a GPU was while everyone else was worried about Snapchat scores. The system was entirely in Chinese, so I memorized iconography just to navigate Adobe After Effects, where I created VFX edits, grew a sizable Instagram following, and learned how to scale and market content. I eventually made After Effects tutorials on YouTube, with my most popular video surpassing 200,000 views.

What’s your design philosophy?

I believe design is constantly evolving through learning, experimentation, and perspective. If there’s nothing new to learn, there’s nowhere left to grow, and that’s when work starts to feel stagnant. I don’t see criticism as a sign that I’m wrong; I see it as part of the process and an opportunity to view the work through someone else’s lens. Every new perspective adds depth to the design and pushes it forward. This is how I stay motivated and driven when designing.

What motivates you as a designer?

Curiosity and learning more than what I already do.

How do I spend my time outside of design?

When I’m not designing, I’m usually drawing, gaming, or cooking up new recipes. I’m always tapped into what’s next, from collectables and following the latest trends to checking out new restaurants and exploring what’s trending culturally. All of it shapes how I see the world and naturally finds its way into my work.

What are you looking for in your next role?

A place that values craft, iteration, and designers who think beyond the sky.
